FEMPALAIS – Stadtpalais der FrauenFrom spring to fall 2023, the StadtPalais – Museum for Stuttgart transformed into the FemPalais – Festival of Women—a six-month-long celebration dedicated exclusively to women from Stuttgart. Every exhibition, event, and format was designed, curated, and realized by women from diverse backgrounds*, offering a fresh and multifaceted perspective on the city’s past, present, and future.
The festival followed an intersectional and multiperspective approach, bringing together voices from different generations, disciplines, and cultural contexts. It aimed to highlight women who have shaped Stuttgart’s history while also honoring those who are actively transforming the city today. Through thought-provoking exhibitions, inspiring discussions, and engaging cultural events, FemPalais provided a space for recognition, dialogue, and future visions—making visible the powerful role of women in shaping urban and social landscapes.
